How to Set Up a Shop Section on Facebook

Have you considered selling your products on Facebook?

Facebook allows you to set up a Shop section on your Page so that customers can buy your products directly from the social site. It’s an easy way for people to browse, engage and buy all from one platform, something that we’ll be seeing more of in the future.

In this article, we’ll show you how to set up a Shop section to your Facebook page so that you can start selling today!

Check for Access

First you need to check for access. Visit your page and look for the Add Shop Section link that will be posted below your Facebook cover photo.

At this time, it seems that the feature appears at random. It’s not limited to the major retailers, but it’s not clear why some pages have access and others don’t.

If you use Shopify or Bigcommerce, you can look into using their links to sell your products on Facebook.

Providing that you have access, click the Add Shop Section link in blue and get started setting up your Shop.

Agree to the Terms

Start by agreeing to the merchant terms and policies. We recommend that you read the details in full os that you know which products you can and can’t sell, how problems will be handled and more.

Enter in Business Details

Next, enter in the business details and set up payment processing. The Shop uses Stripe, so you’ll need to set up an account if you don’t have one already. Once you fill out this page, the call to action button on Facebook changes to Shop Now. When users click on this button, they are automatically brought to your Shop.

Add Products

Take the time to optimize your Shop. Describe what you sell in 200 characters or less. Add your products and configure the details, such as the product category, pricing, inventory and shipping options.

Choose high quality images and descriptions. The more information you provide to users, the better the shopping experience.

Create Collections

If you sell a lot of different products, you can create collections to keep them organized. When completed, the first products in your Featured Products collection will show up above your timeline.
